Job Description

Verification of insurance coverage while working with healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure patients receive a high standard of care.


These are the responsibilities expected of an applicant interested in this position.

  1. Obtain authorization for items or services needed.
  2. Knowledge of contract specific guidelines.
  3. Excellent communication skills to keep all parties informed of order status.
  4. Answers questions from patients, staff, and insurance companies.
  5. Identifies and resolves service issues.
  6. Follows strict confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security guidelines.
  7. Ensure orders are setup with accurate codes, quantity, and pricing.
  8. Able to obtain appropriate documentation to ensure that the payer is able to make coverage determinations in the best interest of the patient/beneficiary.
  9. Must comply with continuing education per company or accreditation mandate.

  1. High school education or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Sitting at desk, standing and walking, in office and throughout facility
  2. Operation of office machinery and equipment
  3. Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
