Job Description

As a territory sales representative one’s primary role is to drive retention of current business, build vendor purchases with current members and prospect to obtain new members for VGM Club Resorts and Gaming within their dedicated territory. Commitment to in-depth knowledge of our service offerings and development of strong supplier partnerships, as well as high-quality customer service, is crucial to success in this role. A territory sales representative is a positive contributor with strong listening and communication skills through which they are able to relate to our customers and create partnerships with our vendors making VGM Club membership benefits easy to understand. This is a fast-paced position requiring strong personal drive and commitment to success while working remote from the home office. 

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager Directly, Vice President of Sales Indirectly
Hours: Full-time: Monday – Friday 8-5 PM+
Working Location: Northeast United States; rep must reside within the sales territory; preferably within the areas of New Hartford, CT or Boston, MA
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission

Responsibilities

These are the responsibilities expected of an applicant interested in this position.

Prospect, Sell and Maintain VGM Club Membership and Vendor Partnerships –As the territory sales representative one will be tasked with individual and team prospect development through a variety of tools, including: warm VGM prospects, cold calling, attending tradeshows and conferences, following up on marketing programs, becoming active in state and national associations, and through strategizing to find additional ways to network and connect with prospective clients and maintain current clients. The territory sales representative will propose and sell VGM membership in addition to selling and creating opportunities for VGM Club vendor partners. As a consultative territory sales representative one will know that they are offering their clients the best business product solutions at fair prices. 

  • Be a consultative sales professional throughout the process of prospecting, qualifying, signing and retaining members
  • Creating opportunities for the sale of vendor partner goods and services
  • Develop/Maintain relationships with multiple vendor representatives
  • Lead new member orientations and conduct regular business reviews with members
  • Regular communication with internal sales support teams
  • Perform daily CRM data entry and account management functions
  • Ongoing marketing to existing clients in territory
  • Frequent attendance at regional association and industry events and some national events and shows
  • Efficient use of technology (vgmclub.com, mobile app, CRM, etc.)
     

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to meet these qualifications to be considered for this position.

  • Qualified candidates must have 3+ years prior B2B sales success and/or marketing experience
  • Golf, hospitality, and/or food and beverage experience preferred 
  • Must have experience selling at high level
  • Strong organization, planning, analytical and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build rapport and respect of clients
  • An outgoing, confident and persuasive manner 
  • Sound interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with experience and success working in a timeline driven environment
  • Shows commitment to a client focused approach and performs consistently high quality work
  • Tech savvy - email, computer, and technology skills required
  • Regular overnight travel required – average 50% of time per year traveling
