Job Description

As a Marketing Data Analyst, you will work within VGM’s in-house marketing agency to support the internal divisions of VGM Group, Inc. Marketing Data Analyst is responsible for successful planning, implementation, and analysis of multi-channel marketing strategies. Will help create innovative ideas that tie web, mobile, social, and email marketing together to provide solutions based on insight and data. The position will work with marketing account managers and internal customers to coordinate at strategic and tactical levels with the other traditional facets of overall marketing strategy.

Responsibilities

These are the responsibilities expected of an applicant interested in this position.

  • Primarily responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings.
  • Design and assist in the development of surveys to ensure the necessary data is captured and perform reporting, as needed.
  • Owner of our marketing automation software platform (Act on) to help our marketing department and VGM business units effectively market on multiple channels online (such as email, social media, websites, etc.) and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Constantly be testing and learning, always looking for insights and new ideas to try
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting on CRM marketing campaigns, supporting CRM team leaders in evaluating campaign effectiveness and making optimizations
  • Work closely with VP of Marketing to ensure a streamlined approach to all marketing communication & promotions.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to meet these qualifications to be considered for this position.

  • 2+ years experience working in an analytical role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work within systems to collect, organize, analyst, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter with a hands-on approach – preferably in a digital marketing environment / role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution.
  • Experience in gathering technical requirements and communicating them to IT
  • Comfortable with querying and logic (SQL knowledge a plus)
  • Experience with Tableau or other visual data reporting tools
  • Excel (basic knowledge of formulas & functions, V look up and merging multiple data sources into one)
  • Have a solid grasp of marketing metrics for CRM channels (examples: content engagement metrics, email open rates, click through rates, inbox placement, push open rates, push bounce rates)
  • Expert understanding of email fundamentals: CAN-SPAM law requirements, segmentation, performance metrics, deliverability, etc.
